Pay for runs, not for retries

Every plan is billed by runs: one execution of a job or workflow, however many attempts or steps it takes. Start free and move up when your volume does.

In every plan, including Hobby

  • All three SDKs and the CLI

TypeScript, Python and Go, the runnel CLI and the full REST API. No features are held back by language.

  • Retries that don’t cost extra

A run is billed once, however many attempts it takes and however many steps a workflow has. Failed runs you retry by hand are billed once too.

  • Encryption and isolation

Payloads and logs are encrypted at rest with a key per project. Your code runs on your workers, not ours.

Pricing questions

Ask us something else

What counts as a run?

One execution of a job or workflow, created by enqueue, a schedule tick or the API. Retries are attempts of the same run and are not counted again. A workflow with twelve steps is one run. Cancelled runs that never started are not counted.

What happens if I go over my plan’s runs?

On Hobby, new runs are held in the queue until the next month starts, and we email you at 80% and 100%. Nothing is dropped. On Team and Scale, extra runs are billed at the plan’s rate per million, rounded up to the nearest 10,000. You can set a spending cap in the billing settings.

What does concurrency mean here?

The number of runs that can be in progress at the same time across your project. Runs over the limit wait in the queue and start as others finish. It does not limit how many runs you can enqueue.

Do I pay for the compute my jobs use?

Not to us. Your jobs run on your own workers, so the compute is whatever you pay your cloud provider for those containers or functions. Runnel bills only for runs, seats over the plan and nothing else.

Can I change plans at any time?

Yes. Upgrades apply at once and are prorated for the rest of the month. Downgrades apply at the end of the billing period. If you move to a plan with shorter log retention, older logs are deleted at that point.

Is the self-hosted Runnel Server free?

Yes. Runnel Server is open source under the Apache 2.0 licence and has no run limits. The Enterprise plan adds support with response times, help with upgrades and sizing, and the SSO and audit log features of the cloud.

Do you offer discounts for startups, education or open source?

Yes. Open-source projects get the Team plan free. Startups under two years old with less than $3M raised get 50% off Team or Scale for a year. Write to sales@runnel.example with a link to your project or company.

How do I pay?

By card on Team and Scale, monthly or yearly. Yearly Scale and Enterprise plans can be paid by bank transfer against an invoice, with 30-day terms. Prices are in US dollars; invoices show VAT where it applies.

Start free, upgrade when your volume does

Hobby has no time limit and needs no card. Move to Team or Scale from the dashboard; your jobs, keys and history stay as they are.
